Barrier

You place your fingertips upon the wall
Your hands shake and you quickly pull away

You stare intently at the barrier infront of you
Your eyes slowly surveying it's surface
Rocky, jagged, hard

The feelings build up inside of you, crawling like spiders into your soul
The feelings of escape, of dreams, of life
The hopes, the wants, the needs
Everything that you strive to grasp, to hold in your hands

You know they lie ahead, but blackness twists itself around you and holds you back
The storm surrounds you and suddenly you are caught in the wind
Your stride, your stance, your stand is breaking down, Floating further and further away from the barrier

You cannot tear it down, you have no abilities, you resemble nothing
Your shoulders sag, your head bends low, your face holds no emotion

The blood rushes to your head and you bare your teeth
You look at the rocky surface with a feeling of hate, of loathing
You charge, hands outstretched, full speed
And as you hit the jagged wall the pain explodes throughout your body
You fall to the ground

Thoughts begin to race through you
They attack you, diving into you, swallowing you
Your hands fight them back and a distraction clears them away

You walk away from the wall not looking back
Sure of your weakness, you incapability

You disregard the hopes, the wants the dreams
There is no escape, there is no hope, there is no life
You walk away and you become nothing
